And So
Another winter passes
The sled
In its pegboard place
Hats and coats
Hibernating in cardboards caves
Glass gives way to mesh.
No more harsh reality riding on the wind
Beckoning blood filled cheeks
Billowing smoke
In puff balls
Creating ice spores
Building crystal castles
Against the pane
Against the pain.
The eyes always forget
Take time to adjust
Warm water flows
Eye to chin
Pretending it’s just
Another day.
Spring
Green’s hope
Brings daffa disappearing dills
Their guiless gaiety
Bestows only memory.
