Notes for an unborn child (1978)
The global village
Is just beginning
And still the world is set on war.
A constant reconstruction of the past
Sends man against man
And destruction colors sunsets;
Shades their beauty
From eyes that peer across the land in fear.
Eight yesteryears ago
Warring peacemakers were killed
Lying scarlet
Against green campus grass
Dying too soon
For an embryonic revolution
Spearing the sac, sending forth a flood of fear.
Bad good guys took to basements
All across the chainlinked land
Plotting against the hobnails
Of the jackboots
That only they perceived.
