Photography

I inherited a love of photography from my father. It was one of his hobbies that he enjoyed the most.

In my advertising work, I supervised many types of shoots: from studio table top to on-site manufacturing and store shoots, to plain old portrait photography. Bringing the same attention to detail on photography shoots that I did on video shoots saved the client time and money because for the most part, re-shoots were never necessary.

My current efforts in photography have taken me two entirely different directions. I have recently performed on-site photography for two different web sites (one for an attorney, and one for a business coach) and location shots for a Proctor and Gamble website they use for recruiting.

I have also entered the field of “art photography,” having exhibited in many shows and selling several pieces. Examples of all of my photography are available in the gallery section of this site.

Or you can view my photostream at Flicker.

Catawba Nation Pow Wow

I had the honor recently of photographing a Pow Wow held by the Catawba Tribe of the Carolinas.

The Pow Wow was held at Wintrop College in Rock Hill NC.

The modern Pow Wow is a gathering of tribes that allows Native Americans from many tribes to gather together, renew old friendships and join in friendly dance and drum competition.

The chanting and the drumming is soul stirring, and the dance competition is breathtaking.

Out of respect of the wishes of the Catawba Nation and Pow Wow Participants, the photos are not for sale.

But they can be enjoyed. You can find out more about the Catawba Tribe at http://www.catawbaindian.net/
